2024 Comte de Vogüé Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru

Mid purple in colour. A touch of oak on the nose, with some fruit concentration beneath but it is discreet. Darker berries show through. On the palate the fruit starts fresh and strict, then blossoms. Darker notes to the strawberry, a mineral undertow, refined tannins, less wild than Bonnes Mares can be, yet reading just as it should. White soil to the fore perhaps but both vying for attention.
