2021 WeatherEye Estate Grenache

"Looking for a top-quality Grenache from Washington State that will compete on the world stage? Look no further than the 2021 Estate Grenache from Weathereye Vineyards. Fermented with about 30% whole cluster fruit to give it some added body and peppery spice, it sports a medium glistening ruby core with a lighter pink rim. Only about 160 cases were made. Highly recommended.” 98 IWR

"Wild strawberries, sagebrush, herbes de Provence, and peppery notes all emerge from the 2021 Grenache Estate, a medium to full-bodied, supple, seamless Grenache. All varietal from the estate vineyard on Red Mountain, 70% destemmed and aging in neutral, larger format barrels, it has ripe tannins, beautiful balance, and a great texture. It’s going to be up there with the top Grenaches in the state." 96 Jeb Dunnuck

2021 Force Majeure Cabernet Sauvignon

"A wine that’s going to be a candidate for perfection is the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain Estate, which is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot that was vinified in a mix of stainless steel and concrete tanks and will spend 22 months in 78% new French oak. Sensational notes of cassis, crushed stone, tobacco, and lead pencil shavings give it a Pauillac-like character, and it’s full-bodied, incredibly concentrated, has building tannins, and a great mid-palate. It’s an incredible, possibly legendary, Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon." 98-100 Jeb Dunnuck

2022 The Black Square Rated 99-100

"The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the River Rock and Stone Valley vineyards (it's mostly River Rock), and it's 100% varietal that's resting in 70% new French oak. It has a Pauillac (or is it St.-Estèphe?) like style in its smoky black fruits, iron, leafy tobacco, and black olive-driven aromatics. These carry to a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, yet elegant Cabernet that has flawless overall balance, fine, polished tannins, and beautiful length. This is a riveting Cabernet Sauvignon from winemaker Todd Alexander that's up with the crème de la crème of the variety." 99 Jeb Dunnuck
